Kerry King reveals solo band lineup and releases first single.

The first album will feature big names in the world of thrash metal.

Kerry King one of the founding members and guitarist of Slayer , revealed through his Instagram the first single of his solo career, called "Idle Hands". "I knew from the beginning that it wasn't over, and I had no intention of not continuing to play," King commented in his post.

The track will be featured on the debut album titled From Hell I Rise , scheduled for release on May 17, 2024 via Reigning Phoenix Music. King also revealed the full lineup of his band (via Blabbermouth ) with big names such as Death Angel Mark Osegueda , longtime Slayer drummer Paul Bostaph , former Hellyeah Kelly Sanders , Machine Head and Vio-lence guitarist Phil Demmel .

From Hell I Rise will feature 13 tracks that were recorded with producer Josh Wilbur Lamb of God for some time .

King told Rolling Stone that the title track and “Rage,” featured on the new album, are songs from the recording sessions for Slayer’s last studio album, Repentless (2015): “They were finished, we recorded them. I wasn’t happy with part of the performance, so I thought, ‘Okay, I’ll put this in my back pocket until the next Slayer album.’ And that didn’t happen, so now it’s on my album.”

The sound of the new album is an extension of Slayer.

In a recent interview with Metal Hammer , King commented on the sound of his new album, saying that it's an extension of what he did in Slayer.

“If I were ever going to try something different, I think that would be the time. But no, I really don’t have the desire to do anything like that. If I wasn’t in Slayer, I’d be a fan of the band. So, yeah, I think it’s an extension of Slayer. A lot of people will think it could have been our next album. Maybe 80%, maybe exactly what I’m putting into it. In my eyes, I think it’s a definite extension, a continuation of Repentless , for sure.”

During the last months of 2023, Kerry King's name was circulating in the news, as in addition to the new album, she had already confirmed her presence at several festivals in North America and Europe, such as Welcome to Rockville, which takes place between May 9 and 12, 2024 in the United States.
