Kerry King hasn't spoken to Tom Araya since Slayer's last show.

The guitarist said that despite the good music and shows they've done together, they're not on the same page.

Kerry King , who recently revealed the members of his solo band and announced his first album, revealed that he hasn't spoken to his bandmate, Tom Araya Slayer 's final tour in 2019.

“Not even a text message. Not even an email,” said the Slayer guitarist in an interview with Rolling Stone . “I’ve talked to everyone in the band by phone, text message or email. If Tom called me, I’d probably answer. It probably depends on what he’d say, but I don’t wish for him to die right now,” the musician added.

On their last and epic tour, Slayer set the stage ablaze with incredible performances, showing why they defined thrash metal. Their final and triumphant performance was at the Los Angeles Forum on November 30, 2019 .

“Tom and I were never on the same page,” King continues. Over the years, these differences grew increasingly significant, to the point of no return, culminating in the band's breakup. “We're not going to hang out together or anything because we're very different people. And together, we made great music and great live shows.”

During Slayer's last tour, Araya mentioned the possibility of a new album from the band in an interview. He hadn't spoken to King, and a new album wasn't in the plans.

Asked if he knew why Araya wanted to end it, King added: “I think it was just the wear and tear of the road. I think he wanted to be home. None of us are real spotlight seekers, but he certainly isn’t. And when Jeff [Hanneman] was around, he was like a hermit. He didn’t want fame. I tolerate fame. Someone has to be that guy.”
