Kat Von D recently released her debut album, Love Made Me Do It , and spoke with Nando Machado , co-founder of Wikimetal , on The Wikimetal Happy Hour about the work and her influences.
The singer explained that her musical influences came from her family, which began with classical music and progressed to Iron Maiden , Bauhaus , and other heavier bands. Kat Von D, who is also a tattoo artist, commented on having worked with various artists such as Dave Grohl , whom she has tattooed and who wanted to participate in her album.
Nando asked about the importance of visual art in her music, and she said that for her it's essential. "I find it really boring when you go to a show and there are several people on stage just standing there playing."
She says that bands like KISS , with their stage presence and set design, are something she has always admired. "I want to create an experience. I think it's important to think about that when you put your art out into the world."
