Kat Von D became successful in several fields before finally turning to her first and true passion: music. Known for her work as a tattoo artist and makeup entrepreneur, the singer released the album Love Made Me Do It in September.
In an interview with The Wikimetal Happy Hour, Kat spoke about her success in various ventures. “I don’t know if I would call it luck. I think so, there are some coincidences that help you, but I don’t attribute any part of my success to luck because I had to work so hard for everything,” she said.
Celebrating her achievements, Kat Von D commented on the process of achieving sobriety, which marks 14 years. “I remember the day I got sober, that was the day my life changed and I became this workforce. I feel like while everyone else was out partying, I was working,” she said. “I sacrificed my family and love life – and I don’t want to play the victim or anything like that, but I want to say that it didn’t come for free.”.
This determination was also essential to starting her musical career. “When I decided to sing, I didn’t know how to sing. (…) I started taking singing lessons six days a week, two hours a day, to learn, and I’m still learning, I still want to improve,” she continued.
