John Campbell , bassist for the band Lamb of God, participated in the RRBG and shared updates on the band's upcoming projects, including new albums.
Campbell said (via Blabbermouth ), “We’re going to release a few records on the same tough schedule as always. We release a record, do a full tour, take a little break, start working on another one, record it, tour. So, yeah, there definitely are – we’re still alive and well, and there will be more records. In the next five years, there will definitely be a new Lamb of God. I don’t think I’m revealing any secrets with that.”
The bassist mentioned what it's like to share a room with the band members during the recording process:
“Well, we already do that in songwriting and pre-production. And then we’d go to the studio, and we’d go to our own studio. We’d sing and create, we’d take the demos, the tracks we recorded, and then we’d tweak them and make them perfect. But this time, instead of doing it that way, we went looking for – mainly live drum tracks, to feel the vibe of the drummer playing with us instead of him just sitting there… on stage, we didn’t use click tracks. The music can breathe without click tracks. You can feel the moment and be connected. And it’s about that connection on stage, and then bringing it to the surface, and evoking emotion in that direction and then reclaiming it. I thought it was a great move, and I hope we do more things like that.”
Tour with Mastodon
The bands are joining forces on the Ashes Of Leviathan to celebrate the 20th anniversary of two albums released on the same date: Ashes Of The Wake and Mastodon 's Leviathan , both released on August 31, 2004.
The albums will be played in their entirety and the performances will feature special guests such as Kerry King , Malevolence , and Unearth . The first show is scheduled for July 19th in Grand Prairie , Texas, and will tour the US and Canada.
Both bands aim to support charities of their choice during the tour, and fans will be able to participate by donating an amount when purchasing tickets.
