The album features recordings made between 1968 and 1970

Ten previously unheard tracks will be released on a new Jimi Hendrix album. Both Sides of the Sky will be released on March 9th by Sony Legacy Recordings in various formats: CD, digital, and a double 180-gram vinyl.

The album features thirteen tracks recorded between January 1968 and February 1970, completing the guitarist's trilogy of unreleased songs.

Valleys of Neptune was released in 2010 and People, Hell and Angels in 2013. The new album will have the same sound engineer as the other two, Eddie Kramer, who has worked on all of Hendrix's projects since his death.

Also produced by John McDermott and Janie Hendrix, the guitarist's sister, the album features some covers such as "Mannish Boy" by Muddy Waters, and "Woodstock" by Joni Mitchell (recorded months before the Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young version).

Speaking about Hendrix, Kramer says: “Jimi’s real home was the studio. That’s where the music and the magic happened (…) He loved everything about recording and it has been a pleasure and an honor to be a part of that process.”
