Myles Kennedy WRIF radio station Slash 's new album , revealing some details about the composition and recording of the work.
The album, titled 4 , will be released on February 11th via Gibson Records , and once again features Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators . Speaking about the new release (via Blabbermouth ), the singer said the songwriting process was similar to other collaborations he's done with the guitarist. "Of course, we couldn't all be in the same place due to the pandemic, but we exchanged ideas and files [online]."
Kennedy says that recording the new album was the most different part of the process. “The guys set up all the instruments as if they were going to play a show. They were all in the same room and I was in the vocal booth. So a lot of what you're going to hear on these tracks is five guys playing at the same time.”
The singer then revealed that the entire album was recorded in "practically five days." "This is unprecedented. I don't remember the last time we recorded this fast," he said.
Myles further explained that a typical studio recording process goes like this: first the drummer records their part, then the bass player. Next, the guitar is recorded, followed by the vocals.
“[The album] has many imperfections, some mistakes, but that's what's cool. It's the human element that I think we miss nowadays with albums that go through various editing programs. This album is about the human element.”
