Iggy Pop and the Losers delivered an unforgettable show last Thursday, the 27th, at one of Los Angeles' most traditional venues, the Hollywood Palladium.
Despite being called "The Losers ," Iggy Pop's band is made up of a team of rock stars, with Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers) on drums, Duff McKagan (Guns N' Roses) on bass, Andrew Watt (producer for Ozzy Osbourne) and newcomer Jamie Hince (The Kills) on guitars.
The performance is part of the final leg of the Every Loser , promoting Iggy Pop's 19th studio album , released in January 2023. Of the five dates announced in the United States, all shows were completely sold out.
In their Los Angeles show, the group performed classics from The Stooges , the band responsible for forever cementing Iggy Pop's name as a rock and punk icon in the 1960s and 1970s, with songs like "Search and Destroy" and "I Wanna Be Your Dog," as well as tracks from various phases of his solo career, such as "Lust for Life," "Nightclubbing," and "The Passenger."
Furthermore, they also performed songs from their new album, which is excellent, and opened the show with the sequence of "The News For Andy," "Neopunk," and "Frenzy." To complete the set, the show also included versions of "Louie, Louie" and "Take a Walk on the Wild Side."
The show ended with a surprise appearance by Slash , who played "Louie Louie" and "I Wanna Be Your Dog," thus concluding one of the best shows of the year so far.
