After a long wait, Guns N' Roses will finally release "The General" this Friday, the 8th.

The song is part of the tracks written for Chinese Democracy (2008) as well as the band's more recent releases, "Hard Skool", "Absurd" and "Perhaps".

Until now, it was only available in physical form, on vinyl as the b-side of "Perhaps," for sale at the official Guns N' Roses store.

The band played “The General” for the first time in November, and fans posted videos of the performance on YouTube. The song is now available for pre-save .

About “The General”

Sebastian Bach Skid Row vocalist , spoke about the track to Metal Edge: “One of my favorite songs is one called 'The General,' which is so… it’s by far the heaviest metal song I think I’ve ever heard Axl do. It has a slow, intense riff with high-pitched, piercing vocals, screaming vocals.”

Regarding the track, he described it in 2008 ( via Blabbermouth ) as a "sequel to 'Estranged'".
