During an interview with Eddie Trunk on the SiriusXM show Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk, Duff McKagan revealed that Guns N' Roses has new, unreleased material to release.

“There’s new material. I don’t know how we’re going to promote it. I think that’s also a question. Like, do you release an album? Do you keep releasing singles? I don’t know what the right answer is these days,” the bassist revealed.

The band's last full-length album is Chinese Democracy, from 2008, which features only vocalist Axl Rose from the band's classic lineup. McKagan and guitarist Slash reunited with Axl in 2016 and have since released four independent singles — “ABSUЯD”, “Hard Skool”“Perhaps” , and “The General”.

A four-song EP titled Hard Skool was released in February 2022. The release was exclusive to the group's official store.
