Chris Cornell's death affected Pearl Jam's new album.

Eddie Vedder performs a special Chris Cornell cover at a concert; watch it here.

This version was a tribute to Chris Cornell's daughter, Lily.

Eddie Vedder is currently on a solo tour in Europe. Last Sunday, the 30th, he played in Düsseldorf, Germany, and, among Pearl Jam and solo songs, the musician included a special cover of "Seasons" by his friend Chris Cornell .

JamBase confirmed that this was the first time Vedder played this song live and, as the vocalist himself revealed, there was a reason for this tribute. Exactly 19 years ago, Pearl Jam performed at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark.

The performance ended tragically after a crowd rushed the stage, killing nine people. The day ended on a better note: Eddie Vedder, upon leaving the stage, discovered that Lily, Cornell's daughter, had been born.

“Seasons” served as a second tribute to Lily by Vedder. The first happened in 2012 when the singer played “Daughter.” Lily has previously commented to fans that she considers the Pearl Jam vocalist and his family her “family forever.”
