Dee Snider , the well-known vocalist of Twisted Sister , tested positive for COVID-19 this week. The musician has already been fully vaccinated and believes he was infected after having contact with his grandchildren.
In an interview with Ultimate Classic Rock , the musician reported that he only had mild symptoms and didn't suspect the disease at first, but took a home test just to be on the safe side. “I’m not going to say I didn’t have symptoms, a little aches and pains, a little stuffiness [in my nose],” he described. “I was like, ‘What the hell is this?’ But they’re saying they think a lot more vaccinated people got it. And because it’s mild, they don’t go to the doctor or the hospital, so it’s not being reported. It doesn’t knock people down or hospitalize them, but they’re definitely still getting COVID, even with the vaccines.”

Snider's theory is that he contracted the virus after his wife's trip to a Disneyland park with their grandchildren. Even with all the safety procedures described at the time of ticket purchase, such as required proof of vaccination or a negative test, social distancing, and the use of masks, the artist claims that no employee checked the information or enforced social distancing in practice. “[The park] was packed and had hour-long waits,” he recounted. “They went home and brought [the virus]. There was no enforcement of the rules.”
On social media, Dee Snider issued a strong warning about visiting the parks, but also encouraged vaccination. “All symptoms disappeared in three days, I’m completely fine now. Get vaccinated!”, she posted on Twitter. “I’m fine thanks to the vaccine!”
