Festival schedules are usually tightly timed: if one band is late, the entire schedule is disrupted, so organizers and artists strive for punctuality in performances. Perhaps this explains a funny situation between Tenacious D and Slayer recounted by Kyle Gass.

Jack Black 's colleague recounted to The Jasta Show, and Tenacious D chose the tranquil "Fuck Her Gently" for the encore. "We had a really good time slot in the afternoon, I think it was in the evening, and I think Slayer was next," Gass said (via Ultimate Guitar ). "They were going to wait politely, everything on time, we finished our set and started the song, which is very quiet."

“We finished the set, the crowd cheered, and who started next? Slayer, obviously! While we were playing the delicate ballad 'Fuck Her Gently'. It was hilarious!” he continued. “There’s not much you can do at this point, Slayer is going to win this battle.”.

Despite the good humor, Gass was unsure whether the other band's attitude was intentional or due to scheduling conflicts. "Wait a minute, was that intentional? Because that's a bit rude, Slayer," he thought. "They ignored our sensitive ballad to end the show. But we probably went over time."

The incident occurred at the Canadian festival Amnesia Rockfest in 2015 and was recorded by fans in the audience. Upon noticing the start of Slayer's show on a nearby stage, Black shouts "Slayer for you!" and changes the lyrics of the song to say "and I'm gonna fuck Slayer" at one point. Watch below.
