I Am The Highway featured several moving tributes to the late musician.

Last Wednesday, the 16th, the Los Angeles Forum hosted big names in music to celebrate the life and legacy of Chris Cornell , who passed away in May 2017.

The event was titled I Am The Highway , the name of one of Audioslave , the band Cornell led alongside Tom Morello , Brad Wilk , and Tim Commerford . In addition to special guests, the ceremony was attended by fans and friends of the musician, and all the money raised was donated to The Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation and The Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation .

Among the various attractions, Dave Grohl paid tribute to the singer by taking the stage with the remaining members of Audioslave to perform "Show Me How To Live" during the band's five-song set. The supergroup also invited Juliette Lewis and Perry Farrell to join the performance.

Foo Fighters covered Soundgarden's "No Attention." The song chosen to close Dave Grohl and company's performance was "Everlong."

Ryan Adams also participated in the tribute and played “Dead Wishes” from Cornell’s solo album, Higher Truth (2015).

Another guest honoring Cornell was Maroon 5's lead singer Adam Levine . He joined Stone Gossard of Pearl Jam and they performed "Seasons".

For "I Am The Highway," Dave Grohl, Robert Trujillo , and the members of Audioslave took to the stage and performed a beautiful version.

The participation of Toni Cornell , the musician's daughter, was beautiful. She went on stage with Ziggy Marley after a brief introduction by Brad Pitt , her longtime friend, and together they played "Redemption Song".

The event also featured Miley Cyrus singing “Two Drink Minimum” and “Say Hello 2 Heaven” with members of Temple of the Dog.

The most moving tribute came from his widow , Vicky Cornell, who sent a message to the audience during the event: “We all know how music can change us, but Chris did something even more extraordinary – he changed music and paved the way for many Seattle bands.”

“His legacy and influence will live on forever. I am so proud and beyond his legacy, his philanthropic work will continue to grow (…) Chris would be so proud. For me, because of you, Chris continues to live. An immortal musician whose passion for helping others is more alive than ever.”
