Slash has reunited Brian Johnson and Steven Tyler on his new song. The single is part of the Guns N' Roses , which will be released on May 17th. The song is a cover of the American singer and guitarist Howlin' Wolf .

Orgy of the Damned is a blues cover album featuring Chris Stapleton , Demi Lovato , Dorothy , Paul Rodgers , Gary Clark Jr. , Billy Gibbons , Chris Robinson , Beth Hart , Tash Neal and Iggy Pop , in addition to the aforementioned Brian Johnson and Steven Tyler.

The song “Killing Floor,” featuring Brian Johnson of AC/DC Aerosmith frontman on harmonica, was chosen as the project's first single.

Brian Johnson on vocals

In an interview with Audacity Check In , Slash commented on how Brian's participation came about.

“I had the song and was trying to think of who would be great to sing it. And Brian came to mind. I’ve known Brian for a long time. And he just has that kind of punch in his voice. I called him and found out he’s a big protégé of Howlin’ Wolf.”

Slash continued the conversation and added: “And that’s what you’re looking for when you call any of these big artists and have a cover you want to do. And if they’re willing to participate, the music speaks to them, it has meaning for them too, not just for me. And that’s how it was with Brian. He was like, ‘Great. Yeah, let’s do it.’” (via NME )

to Rolling Stone on his version of the story.

“When Slash asked me to sing on 'Killing Floor' I immediately said yes. It was one of the first songs I learned in my first band, and when he showed me the backing track, I had no doubts. And Steven's harmonica playing is so incredible. I had so much fun with Slash in the studio, and I think we did justice to this great old song,” comments Brian Johnson.

Steven Tyler on harmonica

As if Brian Johnson on vocals and Slash on guitar weren't enough, the cover of "Killing Floor" also features Steven Tyler playing harmonica.

Regarding this matter, the guitarist doesn't quite remember how it happened, whether it was already agreed that Tyler would play harmonica, or if he simply had a harmonica with him, but Slash was very happy that it was something more improvised and spontaneous, something rare to happen in an album recording nowadays.
