The version would feature singer Dolores O'Riordan
The band Bad Wolves released a cover of the song "Zombie" by The Cranberries.
Dolores O'Riordan, the voice that immortalized the hit, passed away at age 46 in London, where she was scheduled to record her vocals for the cover.
In a statement, Bad Wolves vocalist Tommy Vext said he felt honored that the singer agreed to participate in the cover version:
"When we found out that she liked our version and wanted to sing on it, it was the biggest compliment ever for a new band, or for any band, really.".
Our hearts are broken that we didn't get the chance to see this collaboration completed, and we extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, colleagues, and fans in Ireland and around the world. We hope we can still make her proud by sharing our version of 'Zombie' with the world.”
There is still no information about the cause of Dolores' death.
