Babymetal released the single “Metal Kingdom” last Thursday, the 19th. The track is part of the album The Other One , which will be available via Cooking Vinyl on March 24th.
The new song follows the singles “ Divine Attack – Shingeki – ” and “ Monochrome .” The quality of the vocals and arrangement of “Metal Kingdom” makes it feel like a true cinematic experience, like a soundtrack to a science fiction film. Two more singles will be released in February and March, respectively.
The conceptual album The Other One features ten tracks, each representing the story of a parallel world. These worlds were discovered "within a virtual world called Metalverse".
“One of the 10 parallel worlds discovered is Throne, and this third single revolves around that theme. It’s a powerful anthem that inaugurates the beginning of a new era while also representing the power and courage to step forward into unknown territory. The track conveys the image of someone powerfully ascending the throne of silence, with a fitting fanfare announcing this new beginning,” revealed the press release about “Metal Kingdom” (via Consequence ).
This album is the fourth in the Japanese group's career. Babymetal (2014), Metal Resistance (2016) and Metal Galaxy (2019) are its predecessors.
Following the release of their new album in April and May, Babymetal will embark on a European tour with Sabaton . More information can be found on the band's official website .
