The latest issue of Metal Hammer features a list of the 50 best metal bands of all time, and Babymetal is already causing controversy.
Listed among the top 10, the band itself was surprised to learn that the readers' vote placed Babymetal in the Top 10.
In an interview, members Su-Metal and Moametal commented on this incredible result.
“Honestly, I can’t believe it… even more so now! It’s truly an honor to see what people think about Babymetal and it gives me even more strength to keep doing what I love. Thank you so much for your love and support!” said Su-Metal.
Moametal also commented: “Our fans, the people who love Babymetal, and our team form what we call Team Babymetal. Words cannot express the admiration we have for all those who continue to support us. And we will continue to do our best!”
She concludes: “Today I am 20 years old. It’s incredible to think that I spent half my life in Babymetal. When I started, I never imagined that I would spend half my life as Moametal, and I never thought I would have the opportunity to meet so many people from all over the world and be supported by so many people. It’s mind-blowing to think what we’ve achieved in these 10 years, and I feel very lucky to have been able to go through this experience.”
