"I was wearing my camouflage cap, so I thought it might help."
Slayer is approaching the final months of their farewell tour, which will have its last date in San Jose in August. With that in mind, one can only imagine the crazy things fans would do to see their idols one last time .
This was certainly the case for Chris LaRocque, a fan not only of Slayer but also of Anthrax , who is opening a series of shows for the group. During a show in Canada, the man was ejected early in the performance for being very drunk and disturbing the other fans present.
However, LaRocque didn't take what happened well and decided to use the lakes surrounding the Budweiser Stage to get back to the show. The event was so unexpected that Anthrax frontman Scott Ian posted a photo on his official Instagram of the fan swimming his way back.
Of course, later, when security found him, he was ejected again. In an interview with Exclaim , the fan explained: “I was a little tipsy, but not dead drunk or anything, but I was feeling good. […] I was worried about putting my private parts in the water and freezing. I wasn't swimming fast. I tried not to be noticed. I was wearing my camouflage cap, so I thought that would help.”
The excitement was so intense that it reached the ears of Slayer guitarist Gary Holt , who ended up asking security to let LaRocque stay at the show, but it was no use. According to the website Consequence of Sound , the fan won tickets to see the bands in London.
