“All Out Life” was released in October 2018.
vocalist Corey Taylor explained to Kerrang! why the single "All Out Life" isn't on the new album. The track was released last October.
He said: “The track stands on its own. It was something to show people that we hadn’t disappeared, that we were still looking to the future and working on new material. It was such a catchy song that it made sense to release it. But, in the context of We Are Not Your Kind , we weren’t sure if it fit there.”
Corey also explained why the chant “we are not your kind,” from the single, became the album's title. “I think it would be a great chant at a show. It was one of those things in my head that I could hear 50,000 people screaming at the top of their lungs. It was a phrase that kind of took on a life of its own, and then I started thinking about how it was perceived.”
Previously, the vocalist had already explained what inspired the writing of the track:
“What bothers me is this idea that something is only good if it was released 10 minutes ago. Of course, I love new music. But at the same time, don't turn your back on what came before. For me, it's about talking about good stuff. It's not about old things or new things. It's about what's real. Let's embrace things because they have a history, not just because it's the next best thing,” she said.
