The story about the first time Alice Cooper smoked marijuana is as legendary as the musician himself – and it involved one of the world's greatest guitarists: Jimi Hendrix .
According to the star, his first experience with drugs happened on that occasion. After watching a show by Hendrix's band, Cooper was invited to the group's hotel room. “They were just a small high school band at the time. They said, 'Hey, come to our room.' We're sitting on the bed and Jimi says, 'Here, man,'” Cooper recounted in an interview with The SDR Show . “Then he goes and puts a quarter [of the drug] on the bed.”
The scene didn't take place on just any bed, but on a vibrating bed. "There were about eight people sitting on the bed. And [Jimi] says, 'We're on a spaceship,'" he concluded.
In February, Alice Cooper's new album, Detroit Stories , debuted at number one on the Billboard charts , with over 13,000 copies sold in its first week.
