The Soundgarden vocalist paid tribute to the musician

Shortly before his death in 2017, Chris Cornell participated in a tribute to Johnny Cash by recording vocals for the album Johnny Cash: Forever Words.

The album was recorded between 2016 and 2017 at The Cash Cabin Studio in Hendersonville, Tennessee, and curated by the musician's son, John Carter Cash.

The tracks were created from lyrics and poems written by Johnny Cash that had never been released before.

The tribute also features collaborations from the musician's colleagues and friends such as Kris Kristofferson, Kacey Musgraves, Willie Nelson, and Alison Krauss & Union Station, as well as from his family, including his daughter Rosanne Cash and his goddaughter Carlene Carter.

Johnny Cash: Forever Words will be released on April 6th and you can pre-order it now by clicking here.
