In a recent interview, Zakk Wylde spoke about the feeling of being back on stage with Black Label Society after almost two years since the start of the pandemic.

The guitarist spoke about the confusion of the early stages of quarantine, when the whole band thought they would be going home for two weeks or a month at most, and said he enjoyed the extended time with his family.

“I cherished every moment I had at home because I’m always on tour,” he said. “This was the longest break I’ve had in over 20 years. Normally, when I’m home, it’s only for a period of time, and you’re never really home if you’re working on an album. You spend 14 hours a day in the studio, there’s always something going on. It was really good.”

“I asked my wife, ‘Have you ever slept with a professional dog walker? Well, this is your chance!’ I take care of the dogs and, obviously, I take my son, Sabbath , to his Jeet Kune Do classes, which I can’t do when I’m on the road all the time. But I find getting on stage every night and playing great, and when I’m home I love being home. I’m very blessed. The three shows we did recently were a lot of fun. It was amazing.”

Zakk Wylde is the guest this Wednesday, the 29th, on The Wikimetal Happy Hour . Watch it on Wikimetal's YouTube channel starting at 7 PM:
