Zakk Wylde talked about what it was like to play with Guns N' Roses

In an interview with Eonmusic , Zakk Wylde talked about playing with Ozzy Osbourne and his brief stint with Guns N' Roses in 1995.

“It’s incredible [playing with Ozzy]. I’ve always said it’s a miracle that any gig gets done, because we’re always on the floor laughing our heads off. All you have to do is stand near Ozzy for, like, two minutes. I mean, he makes fun of himself and everything that’s going on.”.

Zakk also spoke about what it was like playing with Guns N' Roses when he joined the band after the Use Your Illusion . “It wasn’t even an audition. Jimmy Page isn’t going to audition for the Rolling Stones. It’s just like, ‘Jimmy, do you want to come down and play with us?’ It’s like, ‘Yeah, sure, no problem.’ So it was more than just a bunch of clowns getting together and playing.”

However, the sessions became more serious, with demos being recorded with Wylde, Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan, and keyboardist Dizzy Reed. Zakk said: “We improvised a lot of things. We did demos in Duff's studio. We just had a bunch of riffs and stuff like that, but nothing was happening; it was in limbo.”
