During an interview on The Mistress Carrie Podcast , guitarist Zakk Wylde spoke about touring with the new Pantera .

In addition to him , the band features remaining members Philip Anselmo and Rex Brown , and guest Charlie Benante . According to reports, the lineup was approved by the family of the late brothers and founders of the band, Vincent “Vinnie Paul” Abbott and “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott.

Wylde was asked how he would have reacted if someone had told him a few years ago that he would be the guitarist for Pantera. He then replied (via Blabbermouth ): “Well, it’s a celebration of Pantera , not Pantera. Pantera is Dime, Vinnie, Phil and Rex. So that’s Pantera. But it’s a beautiful thing to honor those guys every night.”

“Everyone is having a great time. Everyone who comes to the shows too — you have the loyal Pantera fans going back to the past, and you have all the younger ones, as Phil always calls them, the new blood. And it’s amazing every night how many… It’s just proof of what these guys have created. Because we have so many young people who have never seen Pantera before.”

He continued: “For me, for my situation, I never had the chance to see Led Zeppelin . So, if Zeppelin came back, and you had, I mean, right now with Jason [ Bonham ] playing drums, because I never had the chance to see them. So, it’s that kind of situation.”

"So it's all the younger kids coming up hearing that their older brothers heard it or their parents or whatever, and now they're at the show to hear this music live. So, for me, it's really a beautiful thing every night that we play in tribute to those guys."
