After Phil Anselmo said he was "open-minded" about a Pantera Zakk Wylde 's turn Dimebag Darrell 's role .
In recent years, Wylde is the only guitarist considered to be on the same level as Dimebag. They also have a long history of friendship.
If it happens, Wylde insists he wouldn't be a replacement for the guitarist, but simply someone to honor his legacy. That's what he said in an interview with The Cassius Morris Show .
"When Vinnie [Paul] was still alive, we were talking about this," he said.
“I mean, I’ve always seen this as a celebration of Pantera. Every day I play with Ozzy and we honor guitarist Randy Rhoads . I play his stuff every night and I feel blessed and honored to be able to do it. Basically, we honor Randy every night – keeping his music alive,” he added.
