Zakk Sabbath and Hibria rock the Best of Blues and Rock Curitiba

Zakk Sabbath masterfully graced the Sunday, June 23, 2024, of the people of Curitiba, along with the band Hibria . The first day of the Best of Blues and Rock in the city was very well received by the public. But it was noticeable that most of those present were there to see Zakk .

It's also worth highlighting that this was the first time the festival took place in other Brazilian cities. This year, the cities included in the production were Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro, and Curitiba. It also took place in its natural habitat, the city of São Paulo.

The venue initially chosen was Live Curitiba, but later the first day of the festival was moved to Tork N' Roll. The second day, June 24th, remains at the original venue and will feature Joe Bonamassa and Eric Gales .

Hibria and its connection with the Best Of Blues and Rock

The Brazilian band Hibria, with 28 years of experience, displayed impressive chemistry and musical maturity. They managed to win over those in the audience who were not yet familiar with the band.

Furthermore, the musicians showed great excitement about participating in the festival. In a recent conversation with Rolling Stone Brazil , guitarist and founding member of the band, Abel Camargo , said that the show will be "very, very special".

Hibria took to the stage a little after 7 pm, a time when the dance floor was still somewhat empty. But after a few songs and a lot of friendliness, people started to fill the empty spaces.

The band's current lineup features Victor Emeka on vocals, Abel Camargo and Vicente Telles on guitars, Thiago Baumgarten on bass, and Otávio Quiroga on drums. The performance concluded with the classic songs "Shine" and "Tiger Punch".

With the first chapter of the evening concluded, the result was that Hibria's performance was well synchronized with the festival's overall concept.

Zakk Sabbath and a night of classics

Zakk Wylde performed with the band Zakk Sabbath, a project that plays covers of Black Sabbath , demonstrating his admiration for and influence from the iconic metal band. Throughout his career, Zakk Wylde has become an influential and respected figure in the world of rock and heavy metal.

Zakk Sabbath started the show around 8:30 PM, after a short break to change the bands' equipment. The first two songs already showed what was to come. The musicians played "Supernaut" and "Snowblind," and the band seemed very tight and energetic.

Special mention goes to the musicians, bassist John DeServio , who is also part of Black Label Society , and drummer Joey Castillo . Their energy and talent also contributed to making the show more dynamic.

Unlike the São Paulo show, this one was very dynamic, showcasing a likeable Zakk with exciting solos. But as we know, each city has its own audience.

Without time to breathe, they launched into “Under The Sun”, “Tomorrow’s Dream”, and “Into The Void”, the latter of which left the audience very excited. It was clear there were many fans in the venue, and the Curitiba crowd savored every minute of the show, their eyes glued to the stage.

But as with other shows here in Brazil, the highlight ends up being the performance of Sabbath's greatest classics.

From the first chords of “NIB,” the dance floor packed, and only the strong remained, but everyone present was thrilled, and the final song, “War Pigs,” blew Tork N' Roll away. It was interesting to observe the satisfied faces of an audience whose expectations had been met.

Apparently, the festival format and the choice of artists in each city had a different effect on the outcome and expectations of each audience. At least in Curitiba, despite the venue not being full, the final result was very satisfactory.
