Drummer Zak Starkey , known for his work with The Who and Oasis , revealed that in 2013 he received an invitation to join Black Sabbath .
The tidbit [ via NME ] was revealed after the death of Ozzy Osbourne on July 22, at the age of 76.
On her Instagram, Starkey shared a screenshot of the email she received at the time.
The message sent by Sharon Osbourne revealed much of the plan for that year, such as performances at the Download Festival , Lollapalooza , and the recording of the album 13 .
"Zak, Black Sabbath will be headlining Download on June 10th and Lollapalooza in August. The band is looking for a drummer for the album, which will be recorded in September and produced by Rick Rubin . We would probably need you for two to three weeks in the studio."
The wife and manager of the late Madman had also joked in the message, saying that "Ozzy wants to have sex with you while he sings 'Iron Man'."
Starkey had to decline the offer, as he already had commitments with The Who .

In the same publication, Starkey also wrote that she regrets having refused.
"That's one of the things I regret the most (not the sex part)."
In addition, he sent his condolences to the Osbourne family and paid tribute to the vocalist .
"Ozzy will always be one of the greatest and brightest singers of all time. Sending much love and strength to his family during this sad time," he said, also suggesting listening Black Sabbath 's Never Say Die
