In 2012, Viper made history by performing a comeback show with Andre Matos on vocals, selling out the Via Marques . The memorable performance was recorded and released as a live album, which was made available digitally years later.
During an appearance on The Wikimetal Happy Hour , guitarist Yves Passarell ( Capital Inicial ) reminisced about the iconic performance and the moment when he joined his former bandmates to play " Living For The Night ".
“It was a really special day that yielded results [like] a Viper tour, but [the main thing] about that day was seeing so many people again. I know everyone rehearsed a lot for a long time. It was the last time I was on stage with Viper and Andre [Matos], and it's recorded,” Yves commented.
Passarell and Nando Machado recalled the landmark moment in Viper's history and the audience's emotion at witnessing the band's show. "That day at Via Marques, I saw how much Viper was remembered by so many people," commented Yves. "[It was a] unique moment. Days that one never forgets in life."
Yves Passarell also recalled the moment he attended a Viper rehearsal to play “Living For The Night” on the TV show Altas Horas . “I went to a rehearsal and thought, 'Wow, imagine having to play 'Theater Of Fate' again,'” commented the guitarist, to which Nando Machado replied with laughter: “It was worse for Andre, right? He really was a warrior.”
“ Pit [ Passarell ] was messing around, hitting really high notes,” Yves comments. “And there were those parts that made me think, ‘Wow, how do we do that?’” Watch the full conversation.
