YUNGBLUD , stage name of Dominic Richard Harrison , is one of the most energetic and intriguing figures in music today. The artist returns to Brazil in 2025 as one of the attractions of the LOSERVILLE TOUR , headlined by Limp Bizkit . The event will be at Allianz Parque, in São Paulo, on December 20th – tickets are still on sale .
In his compositions, YUNGBLUD blends elements of punk rock, pop-punk, and hip-hop into a rebellious and furious sound. The young singer is also an active voice within the LGBTQIAPN+ community.
Among his main influences are My Chemical Romance , blink-182 , The Clash , The Cure , Eminem , and especially David Bowie and Freddie Mercury . In 2021, the artist made a cover of "Life On Mars?" as a tribute to Bowie, which was later used by NASA during a landing on Mars . In 2024, he earned praise from Paul Stanley KISS 's "I Was Made For Loving You ," recorded for the soundtrack of the film The Stuntman (2024).
"A truly fantastic new version with a fresh take on our classic. Yungblud nailed it," Stanley wrote on X , formerly Twitter.
Career, trajectory and discography
Her first foray into the spotlight came in 2016 when she appeared in the Disney Channel series The Lodge . After that, she decided to refocus on music and in 2017 released her first songs, "King Charles" and "I Love You, Will You Marry Me".
In 2018, he released 21st Century Liability, his debut album. Marked by lyrics that addressed mental health and social issues, the album helped popularize the artist among younger audiences. His career gained even more momentum after the inclusion of " Die a Little" on the soundtrack of the teen series 13 Reasons Why.
Success continued in 2020 with the release of his second album, Weird !, which highlighted YUNGBLUD's nonconformity with the norms of a traditionalist and patriarchal society, speaking more openly about sexuality and gender issues. The album reached the top of the charts in the United Kingdom and was a high point in his career. Two years later, he released his self-titled album, with a sound more geared towards 80s new wave. Idols , his fourth studio album, was released in June 2025 and also reached number one on the British charts, just like its two predecessors, this time bringing more progressive rock references.
YUNGBLUD and his relationship with rock stars
In recent years, YUNGBLUD has gained more prominence by becoming a favorite of big names in rock, such as Ozzy Osbourne and Steven Tyler . He has also collaborated with Avril Lavigne , Travis Barker , and Bring Me The Horizon .
Dominic and the Osbournes met and became friends on the set of the music video for "The Funeral ," where the couple makes a special appearance. On that occasion, Ozzy gifted the artist with his gold cross, wishing that the amulet would bring him luck.
The connection forged with the Osbournes led to YUNGBLUD's participation in Back To The Beginning Black Sabbath 's farewell show . During the performance, the singer moved and surprised the audience with an impressive version of "Changes ," which caused a positive stir online. Backstage at the event, he even had the opportunity to present his idol and mentor with a personalized cross, reciprocating the gift he had received years before.
According to YUNGBLUD, Ozzy was his "guiding star" and gave him invaluable advice: "Never compromise, be yourself, they'll understand later. Trust me," he revealed to Loudwire Nights .
More recently, he surprised again by joining Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith for a tribute to Ozzy at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs). Days after the awards ceremony, the artist and band announced a joint EP called One More Time , which features five songs and will be released on November 21st. It will be the first time in 13 years that Aerosmith will have new tracks.
Regarding how the partnership came about, YUNGBLUD revealed that his nine-minute song "Hello Heaven, Hello" caught Perry's attention. The connection between them was so instant that the Englishman secretly rented a recording studio in Los Angeles in case the collaboration worked out, which it did.
Another interesting fact is that the songs on One More Time were recorded before Back to the Beginning . The artist said the collaboration was a secret, and that fans had "no idea" the songs were already finished.
Regarding the single “My Only Angel,” released in September , he says: “It was written in 55 minutes. It was like a first date: either we go home together or it’s going to be a disaster. I went into a vocal booth with Steven singing the chorus. Then we went into the mixing room and thought, ‘Wow, we sound good together.’ Honestly, I’m still pinching myself. I’ve been on such a crazy journey since I was 19—being able to work with people I had on my bedroom wall when I was a kid… it’s just surreal.”
Many say that “rock is dead,” but YUNGBLUD has been showing that this is not true. He not only revives the genre's rebellious spirit but also reinvents it for a new generation. His ability to blend the rawness of punk, the urgency of pop, and the attitude of hip-hop serves to show that rock doesn't need to have a fixed pattern. His music, which speaks openly about mental health, identity, and acceptance, has created a deep connection with young audiences, who see him not only as an idol but as an ally.
With the approval and recognition of these music icons, he has been filling arenas around the world and showing that rock not only survives, but evolves. His fanbase, the Black Hearts Club , proves that the furious spirit of the genre will continue stronger than ever.
