YUNGBLUD surprised audiences and critics alike with their performance of Black Sabbath Back To The Beginning event , which marked the quartet's final performance with their original lineup.
Last Friday, the 18th, the singer officially released the version performed at the show, featuring Nuno Bettencourt , II from Sleep Token , Frank Bello , and Adam Wakeman, on digital platforms to raise more money for charity. Like the show, the cover of "Changes" is raising funds for the institutions Cure Parkinson's, Birmingham Children's Hospital, and Acorns Children's Hospice.
“Without a doubt, this was the greatest moment of my life. I went on stage to honor one of my heroes, and the fact that it touched so many people is truly moving,” commented YUNGBLUD (via Kerrang! )
“The best thing about this initiative is that we can take such a monumental moment, immortalize it on recording, release it, and donate all the money to such important causes as Cure Parkinson's, Birmingham Children's Hospital, and Acorns Children's Hospice. That's what rock 'n' roll represents. Listen, buy, add it to your playlist – we're going to raise a ton of money,” he concludes.
Yungblud developed a friendship with Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne after the couple appeared in the music video for the single “The Funeral” in 2022. His performance of “Changes” on Back To The Beginning earned praise from Ozzy himself, who commented: “He did a great job. I couldn’t have sung better myself.”
