On another hot night in the city of São Paulo, Cine Joia You Me At Six on Wednesday the 13th, in addition to an (always) energetic opening show by the giants of national hardcore: Dead Fish .
When Dead Fish took the stage, some unsuspecting You Me At Six fans were taken by surprise by the hardcore often screamed by Rodrigo Lima . The band played their biggest hits, including their most recent release, "Estaremos Lá," performing it in São Paulo for the first time since its streaming release on December 8th.
The band brings a contrasting sound to the main attraction of the night. The double bass drum, the fast chords, and the lyrics with strong criticism from Dead Fish pleased many fans of the band, even in front of an audience that was preparing for a pop-rock show and, at times, surprised by the intensity with which the band from Espírito Santo always performs on stage.
Rodrigo Lima took the opportunity to warn everyone about the dangers of privatizing SABESP , vociferously opposing and criticizing the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas.
The main attraction of the night at Cine Joia was the British band You Me At Six. After a slight delay, the band took to the stage and began the show with "DEEP CUTS," a song from Truth Decay , YMA6's most recent studio album.
The setlist, comprised of both recent and older songs from the band, allowed longtime fans to sing along to tracks like “Bite My Tongue,” co-written with Oliver Sykes , vocalist of Bring Me The Horizon , and “Stay With Me,” from their 2010 album, Hold Me Down . Lead singer Josh Franceschi interacted with the audience and gave fans the opportunity to choose a song to be included in the band's setlist, with “Loverboy” being the chosen one.
The band, composed of Josh Franceschi (lead vocals), Max Helyer (guitar), Chris Miller (guitar), Matt Barnes (bass), and Dan Flint (drums), has maintained the same lineup since its formation in 2007, making it as unusual to see a band that knows each other so well playing with the chemistry that exists between them.
The British band will also play two dates (December 15th and 16th) at Allianz Parque in São Paulo, alongside major names in Brazilian rock such as Nx Zero, Glória, Supercombo, and Day Limns.
