Yön , a Brazilian group formed by six women who came together casually to study Nordic songs, has released their new single “I Riden Så”. This is the second single from their upcoming EP, scheduled for release in the first half of 2026.

“I Riden Så” is a version of a medieval ballad called “The Enchanted Woman in Labor,” from 1600. The story narrates the death of a woman, daughter of Sillibrand , who gives birth to twins in a sacred grove before dying. The boys are then claimed by the Norse gods Freya and Odin , representing a transition from older pagan beliefs to new religions, with the grove as a sacred natural temple.

Vocalist Aline dos Reis commented on the new single: “This is a traditional Swedish song, first recorded by the band Gjallarhorn in 1997. Our version mixes various references from arrangements of other Scandinavian songs. It has been in our repertoire since the beginning of the band and also bears the mark of our arrangement process for traditional songs. We worked on this arrangement for many months, and the composition of the final vocalizations only came in 2024, during the recording process. It is very important because it has a beautiful solo by Janine Plis, which really touches people; it's a very moving song.”

Bnanda also released their first music video, a version of " Oi Dai ," a song from the Karelian folk tradition, first recorded in 1991 by the Finnish group Värttinä .
