Last Friday, the 30th, YES released the previously unreleased live album The Royal Affair Tour, Live From Las Vegas , via BMG.
The show was recorded at the Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas on July 26, 2019, and features a setlist composed of their greatest classics, as well as rare and iconic covers such as Paul Simon ," and one of the greatest songs of all time: John Lennon ." This last cover has an extra emotional impact, considering that the band's drummer, Alan White , was present at the recording of the original song in May 1971. Listen to the cover of "Imagine" here .
The release includes a CD with a 12-page booklet, a 2LP with a 12” booklet, and a digital version, all featuring a painting by Roger Dean on the cover, an artist frequently featured on album covers beloved by the band's fans.
Regarding the album The Royal Affair Tour , guitarist Steve Howe says, "Having the opportunity to bring the band members together to develop a well-refined set of songs that capture the true potential of the band is simply an honor for me."
