Yes founding bassist Chris Squire diagnosed with leukemia.

The band will play live for the first time without Squire

Yes bassist Chris Squire was diagnosed with acute erythroblastic leukemia this week. Squire will receive treatment in Phoenix, where he lives, and will be temporarily replaced by Billy Sherwood for the band's upcoming shows.

The announcement, made on Yes's official Facebook page, included a quote from the musician: “This will be the first time since the band was formed in 1968 that they will play live without me. But the other guys and I have decided that Billy Sherwood will do an excellent job playing my parts in the songs for the show and that the show will be the same experience the fans are expecting.”

Chris Squire visited Wikimetal in 2013. To read the full interview with the musician, click here .
