Xororó surprised everyone by wearing a Motörhead band t-shirt during a show with his brother Chitãozinho in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, in early April. The t-shirt features the 1999 Everything Louder Than Everything Else
However, despite their country music style, the duo never hid their search for musical references in other genres. In the "Viver Sertanejo" shown on the Rede Globo program Fantástico at the end of 2024, Xororó revealed to singer Daniel how much he had been listening to rock lately, especially the band Linkin Park .
The influence came mainly from his grandson Theo, son of Sandy and Lucas Lima . In a statement, the singer said (via TMDQA ):
“Since I also really enjoy composing, I need to look for different references so we don't always fall into the same old patterns within our genre. Lately I've been listening to Linkin Park, because Theo is passionate about rock. He's been a Sepultura , to give you an idea. And I thought it was because he knew Andreas [ Kisser ], a family friend, but no. He only listens to rock, gets in the car and wants rock, I ended up getting used to it.”
Contributions within rock
Chitãozinho and Xororó have collaborated with musicians within the rock and metal genres. The duo has performed with guitarist Andreas Kisser and partnered with the band Fresno .
On September 20, 2024, the musicians released the album José & Durval, a work that marks a new approach. The album has a diverse sound and includes elements of country, traditional folk music, and rock classics.
