Wolfgang Van Halen pays a beautiful tribute to his father, Eddie Van Halen.

The son of the legendary guitarist wrote in tribute to Eddie Van Halen's birthday: "I miss hearing your laugh. I wish I could laugh with you again."

Last Friday, the 26th, on what would have been the 69th birthday of guitar legend Eddie Van Halen , his son Wolfgang Van Halen shared a touching tribute.

In the video "No X," the Mammoth WVH shared a photo with his father:

I wish you were here so I could give you a big hug, go to dinner, celebrate with you, and make a silly joke about it being your 69th birthday. Normal things. I miss hearing you laugh. I miss laughing with you. I'll do my best to keep a smile on my face and think of you today. But then again, this isn't much different from any other day so far without you. I love you and miss you more than you could possibly know. Happy birthday, Dad ❤️

Brian May and Angus Young also revere Eddie.

Eddie Van Halen passed away on October 6, 2020, after a long battle with cancer. The guitarist's life and legacy were honored by many of his colleagues. "Eddie was a very special person, a really great friend," said Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath , while the members of Metallica stated: "We considered him an inspiration, an idol, and after spending a summer together on the road in 1988, a friend."

Recalling seeing Van Halen play live for the first time while touring as Black Sabbath's backing band, Brian May of Queen and longtime friend of Eddie's said: “I was just blown away. Watching Ed was like watching Jimi Hendrix for the first time. I was amazed.”

AC/DC 's iconic guitarist , Angus Young , wrote: “Eddie was a guitar prodigy, his playing was pure magic. To the music world, he was a gift. To those, like me, lucky enough to have known him, a special person. He left a great void in many hearts.”
