Wolfgang Van Halen claims to have plans for a third Mammoth WVH album.

The singer and multi-instrumentalist emphasized that the next album will be produced more calmly.

Wolfgang Van Halen , son of legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen , gave an interview to rock radio station KDVV/V100 on Monday, the 19th, where he talked a little more about his vacation and plans for the successor to his band Mammoth WVH , Mammoth II (2023, BMG).

He said ( via Blabbermouth ): “From December 9th to New Year’s, or even January 4th, it was a legitimate break. We didn’t do anything and it was the best thing. But starting this year, in January, I was working on a sort of Mammoth III , looking in that direction for the next album. It’s still very early, but I’m just preparing my mental capacity to write for the future.”

Wolfgang was also asked about having more time in the creative process for his third studio album, given that his first project was released in 2021 and its successor came two years later: “Yes, I could always need a little more time. Not like the first album, which I made over three years, but the second album only took about a month and a half, two months.”

“I think we’ve found this new legal structure, depending on how our schedule fills up, I do kind of a month here, a month there, and at the end of the year, maybe we can get two or three months of work done over time. And of course, while I’m on the road, I can always write demos and stuff and prepare for that. So, yeah, we’re definitely trying to set aside more time and make it a little more comfortable than the second album.”

Mammoth II (2023), which follows Mammoth WVH (2021), was produced by Michael “Elvis” Baskette and recorded at Studio 5150. Wolfgang Van Halen was responsible for all instruments, vocals, and compositions on the project.

The touring lineup for MAMMOTH WVH features Wolfgang on guitar and lead vocals, Frank Sidoris on guitar, Jon Jourdan on guitar and vocals, Ronnie Ficarro on bass, and Garrett Whitlock on drums.
