“I just don’t listen to Van Halen anymore. I understand, like, that’s the connection everyone has. But, obviously, my connection was a little different. When it comes to listening, I cherish the memories.”
Wolfgang Van Halen continued: “I’m grateful for the time I spent in a trio with my dad and Al,” he said, referring to drummer Alex Van Halen.
Despite the emotional distance, Wolfgang participated in a tribute to Foo Fighters Taylor Hawkins , who passed away in 2022, where he played two songs from his former band.
“I play for fun from time to time. If Dave Grohl asks, ‘Do you want to do this?’, I say, ‘Yes.’ But overall, it’s difficult for me,” he added.
