Wolf Hoffmann , guitarist for Accept , shared his opinion and experiences using artificial intelligence in the creative process. During his appearance on the Appetite For Distortion , the musician also discussed the pros and cons of using AI.
Hoffmann said (via Blabbermouth.Net ): “Well, the potential is that, yes, you can create sometimes… Like, for example, I tried it for lyrical ideas, and it’s frighteningly good, to be honest. You can say, ‘Hey, write me a song lyric’ or something like that, and it will give you some amazing things… it gives you a lot of ideas that you hadn’t thought about.”
The guitarist spoke about the downside: “The shadow and the downside of this is, of course, that people can lose their jobs because of it. And the downside is also that it's not really original. AI doesn't really think about these things. It uses, in the case of music, for example, existing songs and creates a new version that's more or less similar.”

Wolf also mentioned whether AI might be featured in any of the band's music videos: “Actually, we’re making one now. It’ll be released – I don’t know – in about a month or so. But you’ll see, and it’s interesting. I think it’s fantastic just to see it.”
“Of course, we thought, even the first video [from the upcoming album, Humanoid ] that we made, for the title track, has, in the background – we’re performing in front of a giant screen, and the art running in the background, was all created by AI. That’s what we’re talking about on this album, Humanoid , so it seemed like just the right tool for us to use.”
