Within Temptation's new album follows Resist (2019). Featuring 11 tracks, the album showcases "contemporary and impactful riffs and grand melodies that display their symphonic roots," with provocative lyrical themes, the band describes in a press release.

One of the events that shaped the concept of Within Temptation's new album was the start of the war in Ukraine, openly explored in the single "Wireless" .
“As artists, we are inspired by the world and we have this platform. We are storytellers and I believe that, as human beings, these are issues we should be talking about,” emphasizes vocalist Sharon den Adel .
