Within Temptation reflects on the instability of the world and the search for their own path in the new song “Don't Pray For Me”, released this Friday, the 8th. The track is the band's fourth independent single and will be part of the new album.
The lyrics analyze current times and call for pursuing one's own destiny, without bowing to imposed beliefs, but also accepting individual differences and particularities.
“We live in a world where cultures and beliefs are merging, while at the same time acts of intolerance and injustice dominate the world. Both social issues and a rapid increase in 'sub-beliefs' have resulted in fear, fragmentation, and disconnection,” the band explains.
Currently, the band is in the studio working on composing and recording songs for their next album, the successor to Resist (2019), scheduled for release in 2023.
The remainder of 2022 for the symphonic metal group will be filled with a season of European summer festivals, a US tour with Iron Maiden , and their European tour together with Evanescence at the end of the year.
