On July 8th, Within Temptation will release “Don't Pray For Me,” their fourth standalone single, which will be part of their upcoming album . The legendary symphonic metal frontmen, with a career spanning two decades and seven studio albums to their name – all with over 4 million record sales – remain a genuine force to be reckoned with.
In recent years, Within Temptation has shifted its focus from releasing albums to releasing a series of singles, allowing the band members to indulge in their creative processes to produce new music with recent inspirations. The band released “ Entertain You ”, “ The Purge ”, and “ Shed My Skin ”, singles that peaked in the top 20 of the Billboard and topped the official German charts.
Regarding the new single, vocalist Sharon den Adel comments: “'Don't Pray For Me' fights against forcing beliefs and fears onto others and testifies to the acceptance of one's own journey. It's an anthem about accepting the fact that beliefs can be fluid, multiple, or frankly: different. The song is about allowing people to pursue their own destiny.”
“Don’t Pray For Me” is the fourth single from Within Temptation’s independent releases. The band has been busy in the studio writing and recording new songs for their upcoming album, which they hope to release next year. The remainder of 2022 will be filled with a European summer festival season, a US tour with Iron Maiden , and their European tour in conjunction with Evanescence in the fall of 2022.
