Dogma and Wind Rose mesmerized the Curitiba audience during their performances at Odin's Krieger Fest. The traditional event, which blends medieval culture and heavy metal, took place on Friday, July 19th, at Jokers in the historic center of Curitiba.

The line of fans outside the venue stretched down the narrow cobblestone street amidst historic architecture, creating the perfect atmosphere for the festival. Many people were very well dressed for both bands, taking photos and having good conversations.

With tickets sold out, there was some difficulty in accommodating all the attendees, but the event organizers handled the situation very elegantly. The venue itself, with its high-quality decoration, was a show in itself, entertaining the walk to the stage.

Dogma breaking paradigms

The metal nuns, Lilith , Lamia , Nixe , and Abrahel , took the stage at 8:25 PM. The venue was already packed when the curtains opened. And it was the beginning of a dazzling performance, a blend of heavy metal and top-quality theatrical performance.

It felt like being part of one of the band's music videos. Right from the start there was "Forbidden Zone" with that enigmatic and dark style of the Dogma nuns.

Despite having released only one album, with 11 tracks and a self-titled title, the quality of the songs performed live immediately captivated the audience; it was impossible not to sing along, or at least try to, with "Feel the Zeal".

Dogma delivers their music while mesmerizing the audience with their visual presentation and technical skill during the riffs and solos. Dogma also played “Pleasure from Pain”, “Carnal Liberation” and “My First Peak”.

Finally, the audience was treated to a theatrical performance featuring a man in a black robe with his face covered, who even offered a sort of "blessing" to the vocalist during the performance of the song "Made Her Mine".

Wind Rose, the Italian metal giants

After an intermission for equipment changes on stage, the audience was able to enjoy the themed exhibits present at the venue. There were items ranging from official band t-shirts to replicas of weapons, medieval clothing, and accessories of all kinds. In the meantime, fans explored the various offerings and prepared for the next act.

A short time later, the long-awaited moment arrived: the Italian band Wind Rose took to the stage, sending the audience into a frenzy.

The gothic atmosphere gave way to a legion of fans with their replica hammers. Obviously, for safety reasons, there were no real weapons. Many fans also displayed their Minecraft , which added a playful touch to the atmosphere.

It was truly a unique experience to participate in this almost "cult" dedicated to the band Wind Rose, on their first tour of Brazil.

The explanation for this phenomenon is obvious: the band's lyrics are inspired by the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, especially those about the Dwarves of Middle-earth, from which the band also draws its aesthetic. As previously mentioned in this Wikimetal article , the band's sound has been referred to as dwarf metal.

Among the songs played, priority was given to the most famous ones, such as "Fellows of the Hammer," "Together We Rise," and "Diggy Diggy Hole," among others. All of them were met with an energetic response from the audience. In short, Wind Rose's performance was a resounding success, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of the fans present.

But as all good things must come to an end, so did Friday night in Curitiba. The Odin's Krieger Fest 2024 will surely go down in history. It was like stepping into and out of a medieval fantasy world, with characters worthy of a movie.
