William DuVall, of Alice in Chains, releases the first single from his 80s punk band.

The group was called Neon Christ, and at the time William DuVall was only 16 years old

William DuVall , vocalist of Alice in Chains , dug into his archives and decided to reissue an album he recorded with his punk and hardcore band Neon Christ, titled 1984 .

The release, as we mentioned here , will feature 14 tracks and will be part of Record Store Day, which will take place between June and July of this year. DuVall wrote the songs that were part of the group's debut album when he was only 16 years old.

Now, DuVall has shared the band's first single and music video. The track, which bears the band's name, came with a video in which the band plays the song as if they were really in the 80s in their garage, even showing a group of children as if they were the band members themselves.

In Neon Christ, William was the guitarist, while Randy DuTeau handled the vocals. The quartet was completed by Danny Lankford (bass) and Jimmy Demer (drums). They even performed with classic bands like Dead Kennedys, Circle Jerks, and Corrosion of Conformity.

The reissue of 1984 will be released on June 12th, which marks the first Record Store Day. Digital copies of 1984 will also be available exclusively via Bandcamp.
