Gabriela Chapchap translated more than 20 episodes
One of the main translators for Wikimetal, the largest multi-platform Rock and Heavy Metal hub in the country, turns 25 today.
The celebration, reserved for only a few guests, included a special lunch and a factory reset of an iPad.
Gabriela began her journey at Wikimetal in late 2012 with the historic translation of an interview with former Iron Maiden vocalist Paul Di'Anno .
Iron Maiden fan and there couldn’t be a better way to start my journey at Wikimetal ,” says Gabriela, who during her time with Wikimetal translated and transcribed around 30 texts for more than 20 different episodes.
“We have a lot of confidence in Gabi's work. When she sends us a text, it comes out practically perfect without us having to make time-consuming and duplicated work adjustments ,” comments Daniel Dystyler, one of the founders of Wikimetal.
“It’s basically a copy/paste job I have to do to put Gabi’s texts online,” says Julia Sabbaga, responsible for Wikimetal’s content. “I think part of my salary could go to her, because she really saves me a lot of time with these translations. I’m going to suggest that ,” she adds.
Among the texts already published by the birthday girl are historic moments from Wikimetal, such as interviews with Dee Snider of Twisted Sister , Michael Schenker of UFO , Herman Rarebell of Scorpions , Andreas Kisser of Sepultura , and the unforgettable interview with the 3 living members of Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Page, Robert Plan and John Paul Jones .
“We want to wish Gabi good health and happiness. It’s great to know that we can count on people like her at Wikimetal ,” says Nando Machado, founding partner of Wikimetal.
In a brief statement before embarking for London, Rafael Masini, CEO of Wikimetal Music, the Wikimetal label that focuses on releasing national bands on all digital platforms, mentions that Gabriela Chapchap's services should increase in the future: "With the growth of the label, we will need more help, and competent people like her will always have a place at Wikimetal .
Nilson Baracioli, responsible for the back office at Wikimetal, also shares the same opinion as Power Trio: “She is very competent. Even the deposits we make into her account don't have any errors. They never bounce back,” he states thoughtfully.
Gabriela is currently working on transcribing and translating the interview she conducted with Christofer Johnsson from the band Therion, which should be available on the Wikimetal website in early May.
"My favorite translation was undoubtedly the one I did with Hansi Kürsch from Blind Guardian, because besides really liking the band, I think he's very handsome," adds the birthday girl.
