Within Temptation has announced all the details for the release of their new album. Scheduled for October 20th of this year, the album, Bleed Out, promises messages that reflect the current political climate, as shown in the title track, which has also been released.
The highly anticipated successor to Resist (2019) will be released worldwide by Force Music Recordings, Within Temptation's own label. The band promises "contemporary and impactful riffs and grandiose melodies that showcase their symphonic roots," with provocative lyrical themes. "More than ever, this is a band that is not afraid to take a stand on issues that are important to them," they describe in a press release.
In their new song, “Bleed Out,” the band addresses the situation of women fighting for their rights in Iran following the murder of Mahsa Amin, a 22-year-old woman arrested by the local morality police. According to authorities, the accusation was that the woman was wearing “non-Islamic attire” and, therefore, she was detained. Masha did not leave the police station alive.
“I lived in Yemen as a child. My parents lived in several countries in the Middle East, and I visited them many times when they were there. It’s a different world. Because of my time there, I feel connected to that part of the world. I was incredibly impressed by the bravery of the young women who have burned their headscarves knowing they would be thrown into prison or something worse – it’s heartbreaking,” comments Sharon Den Adel.
Bleed Out , the new album from Within Temptation, will have 11 tracks. The album will be released on October 20, 2023, and pre-orders are already available . Listen to the new song and see the cover art and tracklist below.
