In the contemporary European rock scene, the German band Stigma has been gaining ground. Formed in 2021 by Gerald Zinnegger (vocals and lyrics) and Markus Mantau (guitar), the band also includes René Chlebnitschek (bass) and Bernd Paptistella (drums). The group combines elements of rock and metal, with influences from names like Alice Cooper, Metallica , and AC/DC.

Their first release came in 2022 with the EP *Last Order*, which introduced the band's sound to the public. In 2023, their second EP, * First Call*, featured compositions more focused on themes such as personal struggle, resilience, and the pursuit of goals, marking a significant sonic evolution. On their social media, they highlight that fans of HIM, Volbeat , and Type O Negative might enjoy their music.

In their live shows, Stigma maintains a straightforward approach, with performances focused on playing the songs and interacting with the audience. The combination of vocals, guitar, bass, and drums creates a consistent experience that has helped broaden the band's reach in live performances.

Recognition also came through audiovisual media. The music video for "Lies of War" received awards at festivals such as the Red Moon Film Festivalin New York and the Multi Dimension Independent Film Festivalin London, in addition to other awards at international events. In 2022, the band also collaborated with the Nürnberg Rams on the production of a sports anthem.

On digital platforms, Stigma reached listeners in over 100 countries in 2024, with thousands of streams and presence on playlists. The group also appeared in the Top 30 of WLTL 88.1FM and on the NACC Next chart, which focuses on independent artists.

The lyrics, written by Zinnegger, address themes such as time, identity, and reflection. The band defends the idea that individual experiences, including difficulties, are part of personal development. In June 2025, the group released their first album, Second Chance, with 12 tracks that show greater lyrical and sonic development. Check it out:
