The rock/blues band Hurricanes released their newest single, “Big Eyes,” on the 12th. The song will be part of the Brazilian band's second album, which will be released later in 2024, and features the smoothness of the guitar in a beautiful acoustic piece.
Regarding the song, guitarist and producer Leo Mayer explains: "It was written back in Rio Grande do Sul, days before we moved to São Paulo, and was left in a drawer for a while."
The track came about after the album was finished. All the songs were already recorded, but the group felt they could have something acoustic, reminiscent of folk, with influences like Nick Drake and Led Zeppelin III (1970).
“Initially, the song started as just guitar and vocals. But gradually, we added bass, percussion, and dobro guitar, shaping it. It ended up with a minimalist arrangement, which doesn't lose its essence and rawness,” Leo adds.
In addition to this, Hurricanes have also released another song from their upcoming album, titled "Penny In My Pocket." Both their self-titled debut album and this new work are releases from the ForMusic Records label.
