Malvada releases "Veneno," the first single from her new album.

Along with the single, the band released a music video.

The band Malvada released "Veneno," the first single from their second album.

The track, produced by Giu Dagga , features the group's new lineup, which now includes Indira Castillo (vocals), Bruna Tsuruda (guitar), Rafaela Reoli (bass), and Juliana Salgado (drums), maintaining their already well-known high level of quality.

The new work also marks a change of record label for the band. Their first album, A Noite Vai Ferver (2021), was released by Shinigami Records; now, they will be working with Frontiers Records .

Indira Castillo said: “This song describes a lot about what it is to be a woman, about our dualities, about what it is to be poison and at the same time our own antidote. I hope that people connect with and identify with this duality that exists in human beings.”

Tsuruda commented: “It was the first song we made together with the new lineup, which is why it’s so special: it was the first indication of the new era. We flowed very easily, 'Veneno' was proof that the new lineup was going to work extremely well.”

Salgado explained: “'Veneno' for me is the pure essence of Brazilian pop rock. We took a little bit of everything we like to listen to in Brazilian music, in Brazilian rock, put it together and it turned out really wicked.”

And finally, Rafaela Reoli stated: "'Venom' for me is the light and shadow that exists in human beings, which is very present in female psychology; it's precisely about the importance of this duality."

The music video, filmed in São Paulo, was produced by Caike Scheffer and written by Scheffer and Lívia Mendes . Check it out below:
